AK UNiTE invites applications for their third AK UNiTE Cohort Year (2024-25). AK UNiTE is an National Science Foundation-funded Research Coordination Network in Undergraduate Biology Education that focuses on providing researchers in Alaska with mentorship support that will promote the participation of diverse students in biological research.
AK UNiTE seeks participants from Tribal entities, non-profit organizations, government agencies, and academic institutions with any kind of mentoring role in the biological sciences. Team submissions are encouraged.
Potential pathways for participation include:
- Option 1: Mentoring Professional Development: funds for attending a conference, webinar, workshop, etc. related to mentoring;
- Option 2: Course-based Undergraduate Research Experience: funds to support the development and/or implementation of authentic research into the classroom;
- Option 3: Undergraduate Student Researcher*: funds for hiring an undergraduate research assistant to support your research activities;
- Option 4: Leadership Team Participant*: funds to support your engagement as a member of the AK UNiTE leadership team; and
- Option 5: Design Your Own: funds to support alternate forms of engagement. It is encouraged that you discuss ideas with the AK UNiTE leadership team before applying using this option.
Funding is available for up to $5000 for each cohort member per year of participation.
