Polar Field Services (PFS) invites applications for a Science Project Manager. This permanent position will be located in either Fairbanks, Alaska or Littleton, Colorado.
PFS Science Project Managers are responsible for the planning, documentation, and coordination of Arctic research projects, typically based in Alaska, Greenland, Russia, and/or Canada. Science Project Managers work directly with researchers, service-providers, and government agencies to coordinate logistics for National Science Foundation-funded research. Project Managers oversee all aspects of initiating, planning, coordinating, documenting, and closing out research projects within an approved budget; and work closely with Operations team members to share project information to ensure efficient scheduling and for resource-planning.
Minimum qualifications include a BS/BA from an accredited college or university with five years of related work experience; Project Management Professional certification; current and valid driver’s license with insurable Department of Motor Vehicle record; regular and predictable onsite attendance; and the availability to work extended hours, including after hours, weekends, and on-call.
Knowledge of Arctic environments and of remote fieldwork and science support are preferred. The position requires willingness to travel to Arctic field sites for up to three consecutive weeks annually.
Authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Polar Field Services cannot sponsor employment-based work visas.
