The International Arctic Science Committee (IASC) invites proposals for cross-cutting Arctic activities to be considered for IASC (https://iasc.info/) funding in 2020. IASC activities connect Arctic scientists across national and disciplinary boundaries, with funding up to 15,000 Euro.
IASC scientists are organized into five working groups: Atmosphere, Cryosphere, Marine, Social and Human, and Terrestrial. Proposals can be limited to one IASC Working Group, relevant to all five, or anything in between. Note: Working Groups must allocate at least 40% of their budget in cooperation with other Working Groups. Learn more about the groups here: https://iasc.info/working-groups.
All proposals will be fully discussed and considered at the Working Group meetings during the Arctic Science Summit Week 2020 that will convene 27 March — 2 April 2020 in Akureyri, Iceland. The summit website is here: https://www.assw2020.is/
When preparing proposals, please consider how the activity relates to the Working Group scientific priorities and the IASC Strategic Plan, available here: https://iasc.info/strategic-plan.
Please note that while proposals can be submitted by anybody, all proposals should be discussed with Working Group leadership/membership before submission. Cross-cutting proposals should engage all relevant collaborators early in the development phase.
Proposal Submission Deadline: Sunday, 1 March 2020.
