The U.S. Geological Survey is seeking applicants for Deputy Regional
Director for Alaska. The incumbent will lead the Alaska Science Center,
which is being formed in Anchorage by merger of existing offices of the
Geologic, Water Resources, Biological Resources, and National Mapping
Divisions.

In order to attract a variety of disciplines, the one position is
advertised in any of five work series, Geologist, Hydrologist,
Geophysicist, Biologist, Geographer, and Physical Scientist. The GS-15
salary range is from $79,710 to $103,623, plus a 25% tax-free cost of
living allowance. Relocation expenses will be paid by the government.
The incumbent serves as the senior official for the USGS in Alaska and
answers to the Regional Director in Seattle.
