Dear Colleagues,
In an Arctic Info message posted on 24 September 2002 you were notified
of the U.S. Climate Change Science Program: Planning Workshop for
Scientists and Stakeholders in Washington D.C., 3-5 December 2002, at
which a Strategic Plan for U.S. Climate Change Research will be
discussed. More information about the plan and the process is available
at http://www.climatescience.gov. The draft plan will be available
online on 11 November 2002. The workshop will be followed by a one month
period during which community review comments are welcome. A final
version of the plan will be published in April 2003.
ARCUS (the Arctic Research Consortium of the U.S.) and its Board of
Directors wish to promote and encourage strong contributions to this
planning process from the Arctic research community. Following the
December workshop, ARCUS will solicit broad-based input from the Arctic
research community for submission during the review period. If you are
planning to attend the workshop, and/or you would be willing to
participate in some form of electronic community discussion during the
comment period, please send a message to Wendy Warnick, ARCUS Executive
Director (warnick [at] arcus.org).
Thank you for helping ensure that the Arctic is well addressed in the
final Strategic Plan for U.S. Climate Change Research.
Sincerely,
Henry Huntington (hph [at] alaska.net)
President, ARCUS Board of Directors
