Program Director for ARCSS Program

Dear Colleagues,

The NSF Office of Polar Programs is pleased to announce that Dr. Neil
Swanberg has been selected as the Program Director for the Arctic System
Science (ARCSS) program. Dr. Swanberg has experience at NSF in both
Arctic and Antarctic programs (most recently as Program Director for
Arctic Natural Sciences) and has a long record of interest in
international programs with the IGBP among others. Dr. Swanberg assumed
his new duties on December 2, 2002.
