For more information see:

Deadline: Friday, 25 April 2003 at 5:00pm
The Pacific Walrus Conservation Fund (PWCF) and the National Fish and
Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) announce a request for proposals for the
conservation of Pacific Walrus. Proposals should address research,
management, or education (including Traditional Ecological Knowledge and
Alaska Native training programs) issues associated with the Pacific
Walrus. The PWCF was founded in 1998 through an agreement between the
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Alaska Department of Fish and Game
and the Eskimo Walrus Commission in partnership with NFWF. The purpose
of the PWCF is to develop, conduct, and support research and management
programs for the conservation of the Pacific Walrus and its habitat. The
PWCF is not intended to support personnel or salaries; however, under
extraordinary circumstances, salary costs in a proposal may be
considered.
Awards will be made on an annual basis for one year only. Additional
years may be requested, but available funding will vary annually. Total
funds available in 2003-2004 will be $60,000. Although the PWCF intends
to make several awards from the funds available, proposals up to the
full $60,000 amount will be considered.
Universities, federal and state agencies, Native and tribal
organizations, international entities, private individuals, and
non-profits are eligible to submit proposals. Matching funds (cash
and/or in-kind support) are encouraged but not required.
Deadline: Friday April 25, 2003 at 5:00pm
For information on submitting a proposal see the complete Request for
