The Snowchange 2003 Conference, organised jointly with the Murmansk
Humanities Institute, Russia with Tampere Polytechnic, Finland,
collected a vast number of Northern Indigenous delegations, researchers,
international NGOS and students to tackle the issues of climate change
in the north.

During the three-day Summit in Murmansk, the Northern port of Russia,
these concerns and issues were drafted into a declaration that is now
available online. Different organisations, individuals and participants
are welcome to send comments and suggestions.

The comment deadline for the Snowchange 2003 Declaration has been
extended to 20 March 2003 to allow all comments to be accounted for. The
finalised version will be published early next week on the webpage and
the Russian variant will be available from Alexey Cherenkov at the
Murmansk Humanities Institute next week as well.

On the Snowchange web pages, the conference reports and community voices
will be published in the course of 2003 and in 2004, the dissemination
publication, based on the 2002 - 2004 work will be released in English.
