The Institut d'Astronomie et de Géophysique G. Lemaître of the
Université Catholique de Louvain, Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium invites
applications for a postdoctoral fellowship in modelling present and
future evolution of climate in polar regions.
The successful candidate will have to analyse the climate simulated by
the French coupled general circulation model in both polar regions for
present-day conditions as well as in climate-change scenarios over the
21st century. This research will be performed in close collaboration
with the Institut Pierre-Simon Laplace (IPSL, Paris) and will be
supervised jointly by T. Fichefet and H. Goosse.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
The postdoctoral fellowship is for 13 months, starting in February 2004.
A prolongation is possible. Candidates with a PhD degree recently
obtained in climate modelling, physical oceanography, atmospheric
science, applied mathematics, or related disciplines are encouraged to
apply.
DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION: Tuesday, 20 January 2004
Applications should include a detailed curriculum vitae, a letter
describing relevant experience and research interests, and 2 letters of
recommendation. Review of applications will begin on January 20, 2004
