The Circumpolar Ethnographic Field School is accepting applications for

ITINERARY
Students will live in the city of Syktyvkar, capital of the Komi
Republic, studying basic Russian and learning fundamental
anthropological research skills before leaving for the small northern

From the village, students will travel north towards the Arctic Ocean.
They will eventually reach the reindeer herds of northern Russia in
their summer pastures which are located in the northern Ural Mountains.

of university credit (15 credits in North America).
