Dear Colleagues:
Our friends at Audubon Alaska are having a conference in Anchorage on
16-18 March 2004 that will be of interest to the scientific community of
the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill Trustee Council (EVOSTC).
The purpose of the conference is to provide a forum to share information
on results, methods, and insights pertaining to research, education,
management, and conservation of Alaska's avifauna. The conference will
include presentations and posters summarizing current topics in
ornithology and avian management and conservation, a banquet and keynote
address, and special awards. A special evening public lecture will be
aimed at broader audiences. Several associated meetings and workshops
will take place either before or after the Alaska Bird Conference.
The 10th Alaska Bird Conference and associated meetings will be held at
the Hilton Anchorage, located at 500 West Third Avenue in downtown
Anchorage.
A block of rooms has been reserved at the Hilton Anchorage for
conference participants at a special rate of $80 per night for either a
single or double room. You are responsible for making your own
reservation at the Hilton by calling 1-800-HILTONS (445-8667) or
907-272-7411. You must ask for your room at the Alaska Bird Conference
rate. You should be able to obtain rooms at the special rate for any
nights from 14-19 March. If you have problems making your reservation at
the special conference rate, please contact Audubon Alaska for
assistance.
