Oral and poster presentations are invited for the session "Carbon Pools
in Permafrost Regions (CAPP)" at the Ninth International Conference on
Permafrost (NICOP) being held 29 June-3 July 2008 in Fairbanks, Alaska.
CAPP is both an International Permafrost Association (IPA) project as
well as an IPY Full Coordination Project. The CAPP session will address
total carbon pool in permafrost regions, landscape partitioning and
organic chemistry of the soil organic matter, scaling and mapping tools
to arrive at better regional and circumpolar estimates, periglacial
processes affecting carbon remobilization, modeling of the soil carbon
pool in models of different complexity, and general climate feedbacks.
Contributions focusing on one or more of these topics are welcome.
