The Earth and Environmental Sciences Department at Lehigh University has
an opening for a graduate student (MS or PhD) as part of a new
NSF-funded project aimed at a better understanding of the climate,
vegetation, and ecosystem functioning during the early Holocene in
Alaska. This position will involve downscaling GCM output to a regional
scale and running experiments with a biogeochemical model of terrestrial
carbon, nitrogen, and water cycling.

Full funding (tuition and stipend) is available through a research
assistantship for either an MS or PhD. The specific dissertation or
thesis topic is flexible, as long as it fits within the context of the
overall project. Preference will be given to candidates who can begin in
Fall 2009 or Spring 2010.
