Organizers of Session A08, "Ocean-Atmosphere-Sea Ice-Snow (OASIS)
Interactions in Polar Regions: Results From Recent Field Campaigns,"
announce a call for abstracts. The session will be convened at the
American Geophysical Union (AGU) Fall Meeting, 14-18 December 2009, in
San Francisco, California.
OASIS was created as a research program that integrates scientific
issues of climate change related to interactions involving the Arctic
Ocean, the overlying sea ice and associated/regional snowpack, and the
atmosphere. The recently concluded International Polar Year (IPY)
created special opportunities to address many of these issues through
coordinated field studies that might otherwise have been impossible to
envisage. Under the aegis of the IPY, OASIS teams investigated the
physical and chemical processes occurring at the interface between the
surface and boundary layer atmosphere in the polar regions. This
session welcomes contributions from all recent OASIS-related studies,
culminating in the OASIS-09 field campaign at Barrow, Alaska,
February-April 2009.
The abstract submission deadline for this and all other sessions is
Thursday, 3 September 2009, at 11:59 pm Eastern Daylight Time. To submit
an abstract, you must enter the first author's current AGU member ID and
password at: http://agu-fm09.abstractcentral.com/.
