Organizers of Session CO02, "Carbon Biogeochemistry of Arctic and
Sub-Arctic Marginal Seas," announce a call for abstracts. The session
will be convened at the American Geophysical Union (AGU) Ocean Sciences
Meeting, 22-26 February 2010, in Portland, Oregon.
The marginal seas of the Arctic Ocean as well as the Bering Sea are
highly dynamic areas where seasonal forcing such as sea ice formation,
primary production, and upwelling act to precondition the water column
before it is exported into the interior arctic basin. During the past
several years numerous new datasets have provided unprecedented insights
into the cycling of inorganic and organic carbon, climate feedbacks, and
carbon fluxes at the land-ocean, ocean-atmosphere, and ocean-sediment
boundaries. In this session, organizers propose to bring together new
results from a series of national and international field observations,
remote sensing products, and model outputs to better understand the
biogeochemical cycling of marine carbon in the Arctic.
The abstract submission deadline for this and all other sessions is
Thursday, 15 October 2009, at 11:59 pm Eastern Daylight Time. To submit
an abstract, you must enter the first author's current AGU member ID and
password at: http://agu-os10.abstractcentral.com/.
