Second International Symposium on Arctic Research
7-9 December 2010
Tokyo, Japan
The Second International Symposium on Arctic Research (ISAR-2) will be
held 7-9 December 2010. The meeting will be convened at the Hitotsubashi
Memorial Hall, in Tokyo, Japan. The conference webpage is available at:
http://www-arctic.nipr.ac.jp/isar2/toppage/isar2top.htm.
The Arctic and surrounding sub-Arctic are key areas for the study of
global change because the anthropogenic impact is projected to be the
largest in this area due to its complicated feedback processes. The
arctic region has seen dramatic change in recent years. In order to
understand the feedback processes and to project future changes, we need
to exchange more knowledge and information than ever, by combining
different scientific communities under the common interest of the arctic
region.
Registration for the conference will open in July.
Additional information will be provided as available, at:
http://www-arctic.nipr.ac.jp/isar2/toppage/isar2top.htm.

18th Arctic Conference
12-13 November 2010
Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania
The 18th annual Arctic Conference will be held 12-13 November 2010 at
Bryn Mawr College, located in Bryn Mawr, PA. The college is located a
few miles west of Philadelphia.
The Arctic Conference has traditionally been an informal meeting with
no concurrent sessions, to maximize opportunities for information
exchange across sub-regions and disciplines. Students are especially
encouraged to present research results in a collegial atmosphere that
includes senior archaeologists, anthropologists, ecologists, and
geologists who gather once a year to share data and new findings, and to
plan collaborative research activities.
A conference website for program information and registration will be
available soon.
