Elizabeth | Phillips | emp11@uw.edu | Organization: University of Washington Title: PhD Candidate Current Research: I am a graduate student at the University of Washington School of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest, but spent almost a decade in the two other west coast states (Santa Cruz, California; Astoria, Oregon) before returning to Seattle, Washington in September 2011 to start my doctoral work. Throughout my career, I have found myself working my way down the food chain (not literally!). I started with killer whales population dynamics, moved onto harbor seal dietary studies, and now am focusing on seabirds, salmon and forage fish. If you can't guess, my research interests are broad, and I am generally interested in describing and quantifying marine ecological processes - especially predator-prey and trophic interactions. |
