The Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS) announces the
sixth webinar in the Spring 2013 Career Development Webinar Series,
scheduled for Wednesday, 20 March 2013 at 5:00 p.m. GMT. For information
about alternate time zones, please see:

This week’s webinar is entitled “Making a Good Meeting a Great Meeting:
Secrets to Success in Event and Project Planning.” It will be presented
by Helen Wiggins, Director of Programs at the Arctic Research Consortium
of the U.S. (ARCUS); and Olivia Lee, postdoctoral researcher at the
University of Alaska Fairbanks. In the world of polar science, meetings
are a part of our everyday work lives, especially as collaboration and
cooperation become the norm. Whether it’s a small team meeting, a
planning teleconference, or a large science meeting, the difference
between success and failure relies on techniques and skills that most of
us are not taught in school. Knowing how to plan and execute a
successful meeting can greatly improve productivity and can serve you no
matter what your career path.
TO ATTEND THE WEBINAR
To attend a webinar a computer or smartphone and an internet connection
are needed. A headset or headphones and a built-in microphone are
recommended but not required. Webcams and telephones will not be used in
the presentations and are not needed to participate.
This webinar series is possible due to the support of the High North
Academy, and GoToWebinar has been provided as an in-kind contribution
from Bredbandsfylket.
