Working Group I of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change
The Working Group I (WGI) of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate
Change (IPCC) announces that the Second Order Draft of the WGI
contribution to the IPCC Fifth Assessment Report (AR5), "Climate Change
2013: The Physical Science Basis," is available for expert and government
review from Friday, 5 October - Friday, 30 November 2012.
The IPCC Working Group I (WGI) is tasked to assess the physical
scientific aspects of the climate system and climate change.
The WGI Bureau has established a registration process to facilitate an
objective, open and transparent expert review. The WGI Expert Review
follows IPCC procedures; seeks wide participation of experts; and aims
for a range of views, expertise, and geographical balance.
The WGI Bureau invites all experts with expertise and/or publications in
the specific areas covered by the WGI Report to assist in the IPCC
assessment process by registering to review the chapter(s) of the WGI
AR5 Second Order Draft for which he/she is an expert. Prospective
reviewers are asked to provide information on their scientific and
technical expertise. Please refer to the WGI AR5 approved outline for
additional detail on the content of the WGI AR5.
The Second Order Draft is available for review:
Friday, 5 October - Friday, 30 November 2012.

Natural Environment Research Council
The Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) seeks comments regarding
the proposed merger of the British Antarctic Survey (BAS) and the
National Oceanographic Center (NOC). NERC invites the science community
to review the BAS/NOC merger consultation documents and contribute
individual responses or consolidated responses on behalf of a group or
organization. The closing date for comments is Wednesday, 10 October
2012.
NERC invites the community to submit responses via an online survey:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/F87HNQ2 and recommends downloading a copy
of the consultation document for reference before completing the survey.
An alternative response template is available for those unable to access
the online survey.
