Arctic Bibliography (Electronic Version)

What is it?

With funding from the National Science Foundation - Arctic Research and
Policy Program, the American Geological Institute (AGI) has carried out a
project to create an electronic version of the Arctic Bibliography.

The electronic version of a sixteen-volume bibliography (plus the
unpublished seventeenth volume) of the literature of the Arctic region
through the early 1970s includes 114,716 references. The printed version was
produced by the Arctic Institute of North America with funding from
government agencies in the United States and Canada.

Why electronic?

The Arctic Bibliography has been difficult to use because the sixteen
printed volumes lacked a combined index and few libraries had a complete set
of indexes.

Where will it be available?

The Arctic Bibliography will be included with the Arctic and Antarctic
regions CD-ROM distributed by the National Information Services Corporation
(NISC). In addition, a web version will be made available through NISC. For
further information on the Arctic and Antarctic regions CD-ROM and web
version contact
