Aggregate federal funding for the development of Arctic instrumentation
has been in steady decline for more than a decade, despite the critical
role that that Arctic research is acknowledged to have in a wide
spectrum of scientific investigations.
An Arctic Instrumentation workshop was held at the Monterey Bay Aquarium
Research Institute in October, 2002 to address this issue, and to
develop strategies for the future development of Arctic specific
instrumentation. The final report of this workshop is now available for
downloading.
