GPS Support for NSF-OPP Arctic Sciences Research Proposals

Dear Arctic Researchers,
In preparation for the upcoming National Science Foundation, Office of
Polar Programs, Arctic Sciences Section call for proposals (January 24,
2005 deadline), we encourage all investigators who wish to use UNAVCO
GPS support to contact us to discuss your project requirements. We will
submit to you a letter of support and associated budget (in cases of
long term equipment loan) for inclusion in your proposal. To get
assistance with project planning and budgeting, please contact us via
our On-line Project Support Request Form at: http://www.unavco.org
(under the UNAVCO Facility, Project Support link).
Equipment and technical support are available for various modes of data
collection, including:
Short-term (minutes to weeks) or "campaign" surveys: low power, high
memory campaign GPS receivers (Trimble R7/5700), antennas, batteries,
tripods and associated materials for campaign and kinematic surveys.Intermediate-term (weeks to years) or "semi-permanent" stations: self
contained systems including low power, high memory GPS receivers
(Trimble R7/NetRS), enclosures, solar panels, and optional
communications hardware.Long-term (years) or "permanent" stations: Reference station GPS
receivers (Trimble NetRS) and ruggedized enclosures, power systems, and
communication hardware for remote deployments.
