NSF's Office of Polar Programs is seeking an outstanding scientist for
the position of Program Manager of the Antarctic Biology & Medicine
Program. The Program Manager will lead, develop, and manage a
world-class, proposal-driven research program across the broad range of
sub-fields of Antarctic biology and medicine. The incumbent will be
responsible for proposal evaluation, project development and support,
program planning, and related administrative duties.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent experience in biology,
preferably with knowledge of Antarctic or polar biosciences. In
addition, six years of successful research or related experiences beyond
the Ph.D. are required. Deployment to the Antarctic is required.
Consequently, applicants must be able to pass a comprehensive medical
and dental examination to qualify for travel to the Antarctic.
