Dear Colleague:

ARCUS is pleased to announce the publication of "Arctic Forum 2004," the

2004. The theme for the 2004 Forum was "Recent Decrease of the Arctic
Sea Ice: Its Causes, Consequences, and Historical Perspective." The
Arctic Forum is sponsored by ARCUS, with partial funding from the
National Science Foundation, and is held in conjunction with the ARCUS
Annual Meeting in the Washington, D.C. area each year.

The Arctic Forum gathers together members of the arctic research
community, key agency personnel, policy makers, educators, and students
in one of few interdisciplinary meetings focused on the Arctic. The
Forum includes paper and poster sessions on a diverse array of topics in
arctic science. ARCUS began hosting the Arctic Forum in 1994. Abstracts
from the Forum were first published in 1998 and will continue to be
published annually.

The 2005 Arctic Forum will be held 19-20 May at the National Association
of Home Builders conference facility located at 1201 15th Street, NW
Washington, D.C. in conjunction with the ARCUS 17th Annual Meeting. The
theme of this year's meeting is "Arctic Climate Change and Public
Literacy: What's at Stake?." Information about the Annual Meeting and
the Arctic Forum, including online registration and abstract submission
forms, is available on the ARCUS website:
