Tom Pyle to Leave NSF Arctic Sciences Section

Dear Colleague:

I will retire from NSF and the Federal government at the end of August.
It has been a pleasure to work with you and for you in developing the
NSF Arctic program since its inception 10 years ago. We have made great
strides in this short time and I am sure we will make many more as we
plan and conduct the IPY.

In September, I will be moving to Denver, Colorado; hardly Arctic, but
neither is it the tropical seashore I had earlier envisioned. If I can
