Workshop Announcement
Model Selection and Multimodel Inference
27-28 March 2006

Qualified individuals are encouraged to register for a two-day workshop
taught by David A. Anderson (Applied Information Company) proposing an
information-theoretic approach to model selection, including Akaike's
Information Criterion (AIC). Participants will be able to purchase
"Model Selection and Multimodel Inference: A Practical
Information-Theoretic Approach", a book coauthored by Ken Burnham and
David Anderson, for $60 USD. Seats are limited, so please register
early.
As an introduction to the workshop material, participants are encouraged
to attend Anderson's Life Sciences Seminar entitled "How Do We Ask,
Frame, and Answer Questions in Biology?" on Friday, 24 March at 3:30
p.m. in Elvey Auditorium at UAF.
The workshop is sponsored by the Alaska Consortium for Environmental
Statistics with assistance from Gulf Apex Predator-Prey Project (GAP)
and the Ecological Wildlife Habitat Data Analysis for the Land and
Seascape (EWHALE) lab at the Institute of Arctic Biology at UAF.
