13th International Congress on Circumpolar Health

The 13th International Congress on Circumpolar Health (ICCH) will be
held in Novosibirsk, Siberia on 12-16 June 2006. The ICCH 13 will serve
as the gateway event for the 2007-2008 International Polar Year (IPY).
The theme of this conference is "The North - The Peace Zone." ICCH 13
will be the premier event for any researchers, policy makers, or
consumers planning to make an impact on IPY health research or polar
programs.
This broad based conference covers climate change, environment's impact
on health, nutrition and food security, medical ecology, injury
prevention, occupational health, aboriginal people's health, public
health, and much more. The conference will include sessions that discuss
and prioritize the IPY research agenda, address how funding and programs
can supplement IPY research, and set the health care agenda for the next
50 years.
The conference is being sponsored by the International Union for
Circumpolar Health in conjunction with the Arctic Council sponsored
Arctic Human Health Initiative and the Russian Academy of Medical
Sciences, Siberian Branch.
