The National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC) archives the "IMS Daily
Northern Hemisphere Snow and Ice Analysis at 4 km and 24 km Resolution"
data set. Temporal coverage extends to the present, beginning in 1997
for the 24 km product, and in 2004 for the 4 km product. NSIDC now
distributes the 4 km data in both ASCII and GeoTIFF format, which can be
used with geographic information system (GIS) software, among other
software programs. The 24 km resolution data are available in ASCII
format only.
