Registration for the 2006 Alaska Park Science Symposium is now available
online at http://www.nps.gov/akso/Symposium.
A variety of registration rates are posted on the site, ranging from
full registration for the entire conference to rates for a single day.
On-site registration will also be available for residents of local
central Alaska communities. The deadline for early registration is
Tuesday, 1 August 2006.
Lodging information is also posted on the site, with the phone number
for making reservations. The room block with the guaranteed rate of $99
per night will be held only until Wednesday, 9 August 2006.
The Alaska Park Science Symposium series is presented by the National
Park Service as a continuing set of biannual symposia, highlighting
scientific endeavors focused on Alaska National Park regions. The 2006
Symposium will be held at Denali National Park and will focus on
research in interior Alaska. It seeks to emphasize science that crosses
political, geographic, social, discipline, or other boundaries. This
three-day symposium is the second in what is planned as a biennial
series of scientific conferences focused on Alaska's national parklands.
