The Institute of the North, secretariat for the Circumpolar
Infrastructure Task Force, in cooperation with LPS Aviation, Inc. and
the Government of Manitoba will convene an Arctic Aviation Experts
Conference on 8-10 November 2006 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The event is
supported by the University of Manitoba Transport Institute.
The conference is designed to move forward a list of action items based
on the 2005 Arctic Aviation Experts Workshop held in Khanty-Mansiysk
Autonomous Okrug, Russia. An electronic copy of the Khanty-Mansiysk

It is envisaged the Winnipeg conference will address such topics as the
social/economic issues affecting indigenous/aboriginal/remote people,
airport and air route improvements, enhanced safety and new
technologies, and airline and aircraft improvements.
Participants are expected to come from the areas of arctic aviation
regulators/policy makers (federal and/or local government), airline
industry, academic community, arctic aviation consultants, arctic
communities, and northern energy and mineral companies.
