WWF, the global conservation organization, seeks a highly experienced
Director to lead its WWF International Arctic Programme based in Oslo,
Norway.
The Director will play a key role at WWF, leading the development and
implementation of one the organization's most important global
programmes.
Key requirements include:
- proven success in leading and developing major conservation
initiatives;
- demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to manage and
supervise people and projects;
- superlative diplomatic and communication skills;
- superior analytical skills and experience analyzing complicated and
sensitive environmental issues;
- the ability to work and communicate effectively with a broad spectrum
of individuals (government representatives, donors, local communities,
indigenous groups, staff, etc.) within a wide range of cultural
environments;
- a senior academic qualification, preferably in the area of natural
resources management;
- international working experience, specifically in the coordination of
a team with varied cultural backgrounds;
- fluency in English (knowledge of other languages is a distinct
advantage); and
- a strong commitment to the purpose of WWF.
