A postdoctoral research position is available in analytical/atmospheric
chemistry at Villanova University. The successful candidate will work on
a project that involves lab studies of photochemical degradation of
several persistent organic pollutants in snow and ice under controlled
conditions via both direct and indirect photochemical processes, and
will conduct field work in Barrow, Alaska, to determine if the
degradation observed in lab studies is also occurring in the arctic
environment. The position also includes teaching duties that will be
structured to accommodate the postdoc's interests.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in chemistry, atmospheric science, or a
related discipline and should have a background in atmospheric or
analytical chemistry. Prior field experience is preferred but not
required. The position begins in January 2007 and is funded for up to
three years.
