The University Centre in Svalbard (UNIS) announces the following
position openings:
Full/Associate Professor in Sedimentary Geology
This position in the Department of Geology at UNIS focuses on clastic
deposits, carbonates, and sequence stratigraphy, particularly in the
context of petroleum exploration and production. The successful
candidate will be expected to perform field-based research, teach
graduate and undergraduate courses, and supervise M.Sc. and Ph.D.
students.

Postdoc in Marine Ecology
This position in the Department of Biology at UNIS is part of "The
Arctic Sea In Wintertime: Ecosystem Structuring Due to Environmental
Variability During the Polar Night," a project studying the dynamics of
benthic and planktonic communities in the high arctic during the winter
period. Applicants should have an interest in the acquisition and
analysis of time-resolved data (biological and geophysical) with the
objective of detecting ecological effects across ecosystem compartments.
The successful candidate will also assist in the management of ongoing
research projects and supervision of Ph.D. students.
