The Arctic Research Consortium of the U.S. (ARCUS) is seeking an
energetic, creative, and technically skilled person to contribute to our
scientific, education, and outreach programs supporting arctic research.
Working with a terrific team, this position provides professional
project management to the programs of ARCUS and reports to the executive
director.
ARCUS is a nonprofit consortium of universities and research
institutions concerned with arctic research and education. The office
and this position are located in Fairbanks, Alaska.
Applicants are sought with a strong interest in interdisciplinary
science, community science planning, and geospatial data management. The
main focus of this position will relate to development of a coordinated
data management infrastructure to advance arctic science for specific
programs such as the National Science Foundation's Arctic System Science
Program (ARCSS), the multi-agency Study of Environmental Arctic Change
(SEARCH), as well as arctic-wide data coordination.
The successful candidate will work with the ARCUS executive director,
program coordinator, and other ARCUS staff; advisory committees and
committee chairs; and the broader science community to facilitate
science planning and data infrastructure development (including that
related to geospatial data) at several levels.
