The Early Career Polar Scientist Network and Whitman College are hosting
an open meeting on planned IPY activities for students and early-career
researchers on Monday, 11 December 2006, during the AGU Fall Meeting in
San Francisco, California. The meeting will be held from 12:30 to 1:30
p.m. in the Marriott Hotel, Pacific A Room.
The meeting will consist of brief presentations on IPY opportunities,
including the DIALOG, DISCCRS, and New Generation of Polar Researchers
symposia, as well as a question-and-answer session. David Carlson,
director of the IPY International Programme Office, and Chris Elfring
and Maria Uhle, of the National Academies Polar Research Board, will
attend the meeting and be available to answer questions.
