The Arctic System Science (ARCSS) Committee is hosting an open Town Hall
Meeting on arctic data coordination needs and priorities on Thursday, 14
December 2006, during the AGU Fall Meeting in San Francisco, California.
The meeting is scheduled from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Marriott Hotel,
Pacific A Room (4th floor). Light food and beverages will be available
(pizza, salad, and a cash bar).
The meeting will include discussions regarding the emerging needs of
ARCSS data management and approaches that will advance the ARCSS
research agenda and increase its utility to a variety of stakeholders.
The ARCSS Committee recommendations for moving towards a redesigned data
management structure are organized into three fundamental areas:
- the scientific rationale for a new approach to ARCSS data management;
- identified priorities for data management that advances system-scale
science; and - ways in which the research community could plan strategically for the
future of ARCSS Program data management.
