The Department of Meteorology at Stockholm University invites
applications for a PhD student position in physical oceanography. The
position includes studies of changing climate variability of the Nordic
Seas and Arctic Ocean during the 20th and 21st centuries using a
high-resolution coupled ice-ocean model. The successful candidate will
be part of an oceanographic research group investigating warm water
anomalies propagating from the Atlantic and Pacific into the Arctic and
their impact on the observed sea-ice decline of the past two decades,
and the projected sea-ice reduction of the 21st century.
The position is for one year and can be extended another two years. The
successful candidate may also be asked to perform departmental duties
such as teaching.
