The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) School of Engineering is
hosting the 10th Annual Science-to-Engineering Conference: Cold Regions
Design and Construction in a Warming World, on Friday, 12 January 2007,
on the UAA campus. The workshop consists of lectures and panel
discussions on climate change as it relates to a number of topics
including marine transportation, permafrost, water and sewer systems,
infrastructure, and legal issues.
The workshop will be preceded on Thursday, 11 January 2007, by three
concurrent professional development short courses:
- Coastal Construction in Alaska, presented by Orson P. Smith and Bart
Quimby;
- Geosynthetics in Cold Regions - Transportation Applications, presented
by Karen Henry and Hannele Zubeck; and
- Reliability Engineering, presented by Mark Ayers.
Attendees may register at the UAA School of Engineering website

courses and workshop.
