The Cold Climate Housing Research Center (CCHRC) in Fairbanks, Alaska,
is seeking a motivated individual with a background in researching,
developing, and testing a variety of wood-burning technologies and
products for the position of Wood Energy Specialist.
This full-time, two-year position involves evaluating technologies for
heat and/or power generation from wood; preparing written reports
describing the practical advantages, disadvantages, and potential of
each; systematically testing wood-fueled stoves, heaters, and combined
heat and power units; presenting research findings in public meetings;
and preparing a final project report.
Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate technical
field or equivalent experience, strong writing and presentation skills,
and ability to work cooperatively with other CCHRC staff and industry
and government officials. The position will remain open until filled.
