Session GI 4: Instrumentation Related to Polar Regions and IPY
Session Description:
The International Polar Year 2007-2008 will be an intense,
internationally coordinated campaign of research that will initiate a
new era in polar science. This session is focused on instrumentation and
technologies, including sensors, power systems, experiment set-up, and
experiment coordination, as well as practical aspects of operating in
polar regions. Presentations and discussions that span different
measurement approaches and different scientific disciplines are welcome,
particularly those that discuss instrumentation developed specifically
for IPY or demonstrate techniques of particular relevance to polar
regions.
