Session I06: Data Management and Communication in Canada for the
International Polar Year

Session description:
Two significant data management and communication issues for the
International Polar Year are timely exchange of data between scientists,
projects, researchers, and northern communities, and effective archiving
of data for all projects to provide a legacy for future studies. In
addition to these and other issues identified by the IPY Data Management
Committee, the Canadian data management effort must address Canadian
laws and cultural traditions. This session includes invited papers from
members of the IPY and Canadian Data Management Committees, as well as
submitted papers from the CMOS, CGU and AMS communities.

Session conveners:
Ellsworth F. LeDrew, University of Waterloo
Sylvain Latour, Natural Resources Canada
Scott Tomlinson, IPY Federal Program Office, Canada

Abstracts must be submitted by Thursday, 15 February 2007, at the
CMOS-CGU-AMS website at: http://www.cmos2007.ca, with copies sent to
session convener Ellsworth F. LeDrew at: ells [at] watleo.uwaterloo.ca.
