The Stockholm University Climate Research Environment (SUCLIM) program
invites applications for a two-year postdoctoral position to work on a
cross-disciplinary project with both isotope geochemists and atmospheric
scientists. The project involves applying molecular and isotopic methods
to better understand the origin, composition, and properties of
climate-forcing atmospheric combustion particles (black carbon).

The position offers access to state-of-the-art analytical facilities and
involves application of molecular combustion markers, microscale natural
abundance radiocarbon measurements, and compound-specific radiocarbon
analysis to atmospheric aerosols. Field campaigns are conducted in south
Asia, Sweden, and Svalbard. The successful candidate will be based at
the Department of Applied Environmental Science at Stockholm University
and work will be carried out in collaboration with colleagues at the
Department of Meteorology. The preferred starting date is September
2007.

Applicants should have a PhD in the environmental and Earth sciences and
experience with modern organic analytical techniques. Applications
citing reference number SU-618-0460-07 should include a CV, list of
publications, and statement of research interests and should be submitted by
Monday, 30 April 2007, to:
