As part of the Marie Curie Research Training Network NICE - Network for
Ice Sheet and Climate Evolution, the Institut d'Astronomie et de
Geophysique Georges Lemaitre of the Universite Catholique de Louvain in
Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium invites applications for a three-year PhD
fellowship beginning in October 2007.
The successful candidate will be expected to utilize LOVECLIM, a
three-dimensional Earth system model of intermediate complexity, with
water isotopes to investigate past abrupt climate changes involving the
cryosphere. This work will be achieved through specific training courses
and collaborative projects with different laboratories involved in the
network.
Applicants should preferably have a background in Earth sciences, more
specifically in climate modeling and/or geochemistry. Applications,
