DANA is the research vessel of the Danish Institute for Fisheries Research.

DANA was built at the Dannebrog shipyard in Århus 1980-81 for surveys. The vessel is classified for ice navigation and is equipped to carry out a wide range of investigations within different research fields. The vessel is equipped with five large laboratories provided with extensive and wide-ranging scientific equipment for analysis and measurement as well as different tools for trawl fishing, water sampling and sampling from the seabed.

For about 175 days a year, DANA carries out fisheries, biological and marine ecological investigations for DIFRES. In addition, DANA is also chartered by other Danish and foreign research institutions to carry out different research tasks, such as seismic surveys.
