The M/V Polar Prince is a 73 meter diesel electric powered former Canadian Coast Guard icebreaker, operated by Star Line Inc. of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. The vessel is fitted with all the equipment, insulation, heating, etc. required for operations in the Arctic and Antarctic regions. Polar Prince features accomodations for 52 people, over 300 square meters of deck space, large freezer and cooler compartments, 3 cranes, space for 20 TEU containers, and a helicopter deck and storage hanger. The ship is a medium icebreaker ( 100 A1 Super ) and is equipped with a bow bubbler system to reduce friction in ice.

Star Line Inc. operates this and other vessels for purposes of exploration, research, seismic/survey work, icebreaking, and dive/ROV support.
