Use Policy: The Polar library is a public library open to anyone who wishes to make use of the collections and other facilities. Books belonging to the Danish Polar Center and the Arctic Institute may be checked out of the library, whereas periodicals and books belonging to the Department of Eskimology are for in-house use only.
The Polar Library holds collections from the Danish Polar Center, the Department of Eskimology , University of Copenhagen, as well as the Danish Arctic Institute . Together these collections comprise app. 35.000 items, incl. 26.000 monographs, 8.500 pamphlets, and 750 periodicals of which 300 are current.

The Danish Arctic Institute owns a very large and well registered photo collection dating back to the very early days of photography. This collection provides a unique cultural and ethnographic documentation. The pictures are sold through the DPC photo bureau Polar Photos.
